Williamsburg Stainless Steel and Glass Helix

In this light-filled New York City duplex, Serett created a custom spiral staircase that functions as both a staircase and a piece of architectural sculpture. Rising through the center of the residence, the stair draws the eye upward with a graceful circular form, a sweeping metal structure, floating treads, and curved glass railings that seem to wrap the stair in air.
The design is refined, open, and highly intentional. The brushed metal center column gives the staircase weight and permanence, while the transparent glass railing keeps the apartment bright and visually expansive. From below, the stair has the presence of a sculptural installation. From above, it reveals a precise spiral geometry that turns movement between floors into a visual experience.
Every detail contributes to the sense of restraint and craft: the rounded upper landing, the slender metal tread supports, the custom glass panels, and the smooth central column with elongated vertical cutouts. The result is a staircase that feels tailored to the architecture rather than added to it.
For a residence defined by natural light, open space, and city views, this custom metal spiral staircase becomes the centerpiece of the interior. It is functional, but not merely functional. It connects the home vertically while giving the space a distinct architectural identity.
