Metal Wall with Train Station Display Board

For this hotel in Long Island City we cladded the elevator lobby in Patina black steel panels. We also fabricated and installed a split flap display resembling a train departure board that features the word “welcome” in several languages, to greet guests.
Challenges with this project was replicating a non functional train display board and using industrial coding that will hold up to the wear and tear on the metal panels. Being the panels are the main point of entry for the hotel and suffer a lot of abuse.
